The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 was the 15th season of the IPL, a professional Twenty20 cricket league in India. It was held from April 9 to May 29, 2022, and a total of 8 teams participated in the tournament.
The tournament was played across six venues in India and was played in a bio-secure bubble due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament format remained unchanged, with each team playing 14 matches in a double round-robin format, and the top four teams qualifying for the playoffs. In the final, the Chennai Super Kings defeated the Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets to lift the IPL trophy for the third time. Suresh Raina was named the Player of the Tournament, scoring 548 runs in 14 innings at an average of 49.81 and a strike rate of 135.94.
