Make your own rule set
Rules are the fundamental and crucial component of any game you play. You should preferably sign up and create your own Rule Set so Fantasy Points are calculated as per YOUR preference, this will make it easier to integrate the platform.
- “PER” means the rule applies for every such event.
- Otherwise the it applies just ONCE.
- “BONUS” points can be cumulative.
Default Rule Set
Here are some default rules of Fantasy Match Points API for Batting, Bowling, and Fielding/Catching
Fantasy Points Batting Rules
The key metric for batting is “Runs”. The secondary metric is “Strike Rate”. Calculations are done accordingly.
Key metric (Runs) points:
- +1 point PER run
- +1 point PER four(For every boundary batsman gets an additional 1 point for example if a batsman hits 2 boundaries then the points will be 1 (points per four) * 2 (number of fours) = 2 )
- +2 points PER six (For every six the batsman gets an additional bonus of 2 points as it takes more effort to hit a six example if a batsman hits 2 sixes the points will be 2 (points per six) * 2 (number of sixes ) = 4 )
- -2 points if dismissed for a 0 ( Your entire fantasy team will lose 2 points if you have a batsman in it and he gets out on 0(without scoring a run). For instance, if your total fantasy points before the batsman went out were 112, they will now be 110. )
Bonus Points
- +4 bonus points for scoring 30 runs (If a batsman scores more than 30 runs then additional 4 points will be added to batsman fantasy points)
- +4 bonus points for a half-century (If a batsman scores more than 50 runs then the previous 30 runs bonus points + additional 4 points of 50 runs will be added to batsman fantasy points that means in total 8 bonus points will get added )
- +8 bonus points for a century (If a batsman scores more than 50 runs then the previous 30 and 50 runs bonus points +additional 4 points will be added to batsman fantasy points means in total 16 points bonus will get added)
Secondary metric (Strike Rate) points:
- -2 points if Strike Rate is below 70 (If the strike rate of the batsman after getting out or at the end of the inning is below 70 then -2 points will get reduced from batsman fantasy points)
- 2 points if Strike Rate is below 60 (If the strike rate of the batsman after getting out or at the end of the inning is below 60 then 2 points + strike rate below 70 (-2 points) will also get reduced which means total -4 points will get deducted from batsman fantasy points )
- 2 points if Strike Rate is below 50 (If the strike rate of the batsman after getting out or at the end of the inning is below 50 then 2 points + strike rate below 70 (-2 points) and strike rate below 50 (-2 points)will also get reduced which means total -6 points will get deducted from batsman fantasy points will get reduced from batsman fantasy points)
- 0 points if Strike Rate is between 70-130(If the strike rate of the batsman is between 70 and 130 then no points will be added or deducted or added on batsman fantasy points )
- +2 points if Strike Rate is greater than 130 (If batsman strike rate is greater than 130 then 2 points will get added )
- +4 points if Strike Rate is between 150 (If the batsman’s strike rate is greater than 150 then 4 points + additional 2 points(strike rate greater than 130 ) will get added that is total of 6 points will get added )
- +6 points if Strike Rate is more than 170 (If the batsman’s strike rate is greater than 150 then 4 points + additional 6 points(strike rate greater than 130 (2 points) and strike rate greater than 150 (4 points)) will get added that is total 12 points will get added)
Fantasy Points Bowling Rules
The primary metric for bowlers is naturally Wickets – but Maiden overs are also an important side metric. The secondary metric for bowlers is the Economy Rate.
Key metric (Wickets) and side metric (Maidens)
- +2 points per maiden over (If a bowler bowled a maiden over then additional 2 points will get added to bowlers fantasy points )
- +4 points PER wicket (If a bowler took wickets then 4 points will get added For example 4(points per wicket) * 2(number of wickets) = 8 points will get added to )
- -2 points PER wide(If a bowler balls wide then -2 points will get reduced in bowler fantasy points for example -2(points per wide) * 2(number of wide) = -4 will get deducted )
- –1 points PER no ball ( If a bowler balls no ball then -2 points will get reduced in bowler fantasy points for example -2(points per no ball) * 2(number of no ball) = -4 will get deducted)
Bonus Points
- +4 bonus points for taking three wickets in a single match (If a bowler takes 3 wickets in his spell then an additional 3 points bonus will get added to his fantasy points)
- +4 bonus points for taking four wickets in a single match (If a bowler takes 4 wickets in his spell then an additional bonus of 4 points + 4 ( 3 wicket points) = 8 points will get added to his fantasy points)
- +8 bonus points for taking five OR MORE wickets (If a bowler takes 5 or more wickets then an additional bonus of 8 points + 8( 3 wicket and 4 wicket points) = 16 points will get added to his fantasy points )
Secondary metric (Economy Rate) points:
- 6 points if the economy rate is below 5 runs per over(If a bowler has an economy less than 5 then an additional 4 bonus points will get added to the bowler fantasy points)
- 4 points if the economy rate is less than 6 (If a bowler has an economy rate less than 6 then an additional 4 points + 6( economy less than 5) = 10
- 2 points if the bowler’s economy is less than 7 ( If a bowler has an economy less than 7 then an additional 2 points bonus + 10(economy less than 5 and 6 )= 12
- 0 points if the economy rate is between 7 and 10 runs per over( If a bowler has an economy between 7-10 then no points will get added to the bowler’s fantasy points)
- -6 points if his economy rate is above 12 runs per over(If a bowler has an economy rate above 12 then -6 points get deducted from bowler fantasy points )
- -4 points if his economy rate is between 11.01 – 12 runs per over(If a
- -2 points if his economy rate is between 10 – 11 runs per over
Fantasy Points For Fielding & Catching
Catching is limited to non-bowler Catches (catch-and-bowled is separate from Catches). There are 3 metrics here, of them Catches are the key metric, and the other two are secondary’s.
Key metric points:
- +8 points PER catch
Bonus Points:
- +4 bonus points for taking three or more catches
Secondary Metrics:
- +6 points PER run out
- +6 points PER stumped
